Solid Waste & Recycling
The Solid Waste / Recycling department is charged with the responsibility of providing a clean, safe environment for citizens of Woodford County. Proper disposal of trash, appliances, tires, etc. is monitored by this department. If you have any questions regarding appropriate disposal options, you may phone the office at 859-873-0660.
CLOSURE:
The Woodford County Courthouse and all County Offices including Solid Waste and Recycling will be CLOSED, Firday July 3rd and Saturday July 4th in observation of Independence Day.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection
Woodford County Residents - ONE DAY EVENT - 2026 date TBD 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Through a Kentucky Pride Fund Grant we will host a Household Hazardous Waste event to provide an effective and efficient collection and disposal of household hazardous waste for the residents of Woodford County (proof of residence required).
We will accept for transportation and disposal the majority of hazardous waste typically produced by households. For the safety of everyone involved, all materials should be known and properly labeled. Wastes not in their original containers will be accepted as "known" wastes provided they are labeled. "Unknown" wastes, if acceptable, will be field tested and packaged for disposal.

Please Note: The vendor reserves the right to refuse any waste deemed unsafe to handle or unsuitable for the collection. Such wastes include large quantities of unknown material, radioactive waste, unstable wastes, and unknown gas cylinders.
